"iZombie" gets another year to live. The CW has renewed the freshman drama series for a second season. Premiere date and episode count for the sophomore run have not been determined yet and will be revealed later.

The renewal doesn't come as a surprise as the show, adapted from DC comic books of the same name, had a solid debut with 2.3 million total viewers and a 0.9 demo rating last March. The latest episode which aired on Tuesday night, May 5 drew 1.9 million total viewers and a 0.7 demo rating.

Also getting the good news is PlayStation's first original scripted series "Powers". The drama starring Sharlto Copley which is based on Image/Icon comic book of the same name is renewed for season 2 by the Sony-owned video gaming console.

"The reception to 'Powers' has been incredible, and we are thrilled to have successfully launched a platform for original content with the PlayStation gamer in mind," says John Koller, vp platforms marketing at Sony Computer Entertainment America. "We believe original content will continue to be a key pillar as we broaden the value proposition for PlayStation Plus, and we're excited for what's to come with season two of 'Powers'."

Jamie Erlicht, president of programming and development at SPT, adds, "There is a lot to look forward to in season two for both new and existing fans of the series, as we broaden the 'Powers' universe and bring even more of the fan-favorite characters and storylines to life."

The show will return with the new chapter in 2016.
