— Paul Alley (@U2ZooStationTV) May 5, 2015 Bono and Co. surprised commuters at the city's Grand Central subway station with an impromptu performance of their 1988 single "Angel of Harlem". Numerous photos and videos from the moment have surfaced online thanks to fans in the crowd.
To support their newest album "Songs of Innocence", U2 was supposed to visit the late night show for a week-long residency back in November. They were forced to cancel it after Bono had a cycling accident in New York and needed surgery to repair his injured arm.
The residency was later rescheduled for May 8, although Bono's injury hasn't fully healed. Following their forthcoming appearance on "Tonight Show", the group will kick off their "Innocence + Experience" tour on May 14 in Vancouver.
