Sophia took to Instagram on Saturday, April 25 to share a photo in honor to her ex-boyfriend who was killed in Everest avalanche, saying, 'He was one of the great loves of my life.'

AceShowbiz - Sophia Bush paid tribute to her ex-boyfriend Dan Fredinburg who was killed in Everest avalanche during a massive earthquake in Nepal a few days ago. She took to Instagram on Sunday, April 25 to share a throwback photo showing the Google executive standing in what appears to be rain room exhibit in the Museum of Modern Art.
Alongside the photo, Sophia wrote a lengthy message. "He was one of the great loves of my life. He was one of my truest friends," so she shared. "He was an incredible brother, a brilliant engineer, and a damn good man. I'm devastated and simultaneously so deeply grateful to have known and loved him, and to have counted him as one of my tribe."
Sophia, who attended White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday night, continued to encourage her Instagram followers to pray for her longtime pal and hug their friends and families. "And please send a kiss to the sky for my friend Dan," so she said. "His energy is so big and so bright, and it's all around us, so put some love toward him today. And then hug your loved ones again."
Following the tribute photo, the "Chicago P.D." actress helped raise money for Dan's crowdrise fundraising site, sharing a link to the charity site on her Twitter.
"Our friend Dan Fredinburg was climbing Everest on behalf of OrphanGift in support of two Nepali orphanages when the earthquake struck," so read a statement on the site. "Please donate to honor his memory and carry on his mission. All funds will help OrphanGift provide urgent aid for the children effected by the disaster and restoring structural damage." So far, more than $25,000 has been raised in Fredinburg's memory.
