AceShowbiz - Christine Cavanaugh, the voice of "Babe" and Chuckie Finster on Nickelodeon's "Rugrats" has passed away. She died at the age of 51 on Monday, December 22, but the cause of death is not revealed yet. A Memorial Stone ceremony to celebrate her life will be held at Antelope Island, off the Great Salt Lake in Utah, a place she loved to visit.
An obituary in the Los Angeles Times read, "Her imagination, humor and intelligence were evident to anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. The childlike awe of the world, humor to deal with the unpleasantness of reality, strength to deal with the challenges we all face, and intelligence to know when to act or accept what fate had allowed. Christine lived her life the way she wanted."
It added, "When her life changed she found herself needing the quiet of the country. Even with the evolution in her life, her wit, wisdom and imagination were still alive and well."
The voice actress, known for her distinctive speaking style, also lent her voice to Gosalyn Mallard in "Darkwing Duck" and Dexter in Cartoon Network's "Dexter's Laboratory". She retired in 2001 to get closer to her family. She is survived by her father, sister, brother, nieces, nephew and god child.
She reportedly suffered from CML or chronic myelogenous leukemia.
