Ansel Elgort took to Twitter on Wednesday evening, December 17 to address persistent rumors that he's a gay. He made his sexual preference quite clear when tweeting, "Just in case it isn't clear... I like girls. A lot."
The star of "The Fault in Our Stars" followed it up, "Also let me say if I was gay I wouldn't hide it. Being gay or straight isn't bad or good it just IS. U are who you are. Be true to yourself."
Ansel sparked gay rumors after he and Nat Wolff recreated "The Fault in Our Stars" poster for their gay fans back in May. "The fault in our stars. W @natandale," the "Men, Women & Children" actor captioned the photo on Instagram.
Ansel has been single since his split from his longtime girlfriend Violetta Komyshan back in August. At that time, a source told Us Weekly that the break-up was due to their hectic schedule. "[Ansel and Violetta] tried to navigate his commitments, but between filming and press for the movies [it got difficult]," the source said.
Ansel will reprise his role as Caleb Prior in upcoming movie "The Divergent Series: Insurgent". Other original cast members like Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Ray Stevenson and Kate Winslet will also back in their respective roles. The fantasy adventure flick is set to hit theaters in the U.S. on March 20, 2015.
