John Legend and his wife Chrissy Teigen hired a slew of food trucks to provide free food for Ferguson protesters and homeless people in Lincoln Square, New York City on Sunday, December 7. The food trucks were organized by Operation Help or Hush, an online activist organization.
Chrissy retweeted a message posted by Operation Help or Hush which read, "3-6pm. FREE food trucks by Trader Joe's Union Sq. @ophelporhush #FergusontoNYC #NYC2Ferguson." The organization also took to Twitter to share some photos of the food trucks including Kimchi Taco Truck, which is known for its Korean BBQ, Milk Truck NYC, which reportedly provided over 500 helpings of Mac & Cheese, and Nuchas, which is famous for it's empenadas.

The organization wrote, "Twitter activists are responsible for the incredible coverage and attention in Ferguson and have shown the power and potential of social media to impact social change."
The organization continued, "Social media can be noisy. And it is easy to hide, and be hidden, in the noise. #OperationHelporHush started as critics doubted the impact that Twitter activists could have to influence change and our response was, 'So help... or hush' - either contribute to the movement or be quiet."
John has been voicing his thoughts about Ferguson issue. He and rapper Common recently wrote a song titled "Glory" for the upcoming "Selma" soundtrack. The lyrics included a line which read, "That's why Rosa sat on the bus/That's why we walk through Ferguson with our hands up."
