Beside being courted for Warner Bros.' 'Suicide Squad', the actor reportedly is also in 20th Century Fox's wanted list as Apocalypse.

AceShowbiz - There's a rumor floating around that Tom Hardy is wanted to play the villain in "X-Men: Apocalypse". A new report says that 20th Century Fox is courting the actor to play the role of Apocalypse a.k.a. En Sabah Nur.

There is no other details regarding the casting. TheWrap was the first to report it along with the hint that Hardy is also touted to be one of the supervillains in Warner Bros.' "Suicide Squad". If Hardy agrees to take on the latter, it is most likely that he would be up for a multiyear contract. Hardy himself is no stranger to being the baddie for he was once Bane in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises".

Apocalypse was created by writer Louise Simonson and artist Jackson Guice, and first introduced in "X-Factor #5". Born in Egypt, the bluish villain was the world's first mutant who used technology to make himself an eternal conquerer. The character was briefly previewed at the end of "X-Men: Days of Future Past".

"The biggest and funnest challenge of the Apocalypse movie to me is his character," writer Simon Kinberg previously said. "How do you create a new villain for the X-Men world that is as good as any villain that's come before, is compelling philosophically as Magneto, not just in his physical powers, but in his philosophical depth. 'Apocalypse' is going to be a fun movie to write and make."

"X-Men: Apocalypse" will be released on May 27, 2016. Bryan Singer returns to direct the franchise, using the script from Dan Harris and Michael Dougherty.
