'X-Men: Apocalypse' Returns to Montreal for Filming Next Year

The sequel to 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' will start shooting in Mel's Studio where its predecessor was filmed.

AceShowbiz - "X-Men: Apocalypse" is returning to a familiar setting for the filming next year. The movie is scheduled to begin rolling the camera April 2015, taking place at Mel's Cite du Cinema in Montreal where "X-Men: Days of Future Past" was previously shot.

According to Journal de Montreal, set construction will begin this December. Bryan Singer is set to return behind the lens. The eighth installment of the "X-Men" saga is planned to be released in theaters across the United States starting May 27, 2016.

James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman and Evan Peters are expected to reprise their respective roles. In this film, the mutant forefather, En Sabah Nur, returns with plans to plunge the world into an apocalypse to ensure supremacy.
