Neil Patrick Harris and Bryan Cranston Earn 2014 Tony Nominations

This year's nomination list is dominated by 'A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder' with 10, followed by Harris' 'Hedwig and the Angry Inch' with 8.

AceShowbiz - Neil Patrick Harris and Bryan Cranston both earned their Tony Awards nominations this year. Harris scored from his role as a transgender in the musical "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" while Cranston grabbed his from the role as Lyndon B. Johnson in "All the Way".

For Harris, this is his first nomination for best actor in a musical. He is battling Ramin Karimloo ("Les Miserables"), Andy Karl ("Rocky") and Jefferson Mays and Bryce Pinkham ("A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder") in the category. "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" received eight nominations in total.

Meanwhile, this is the first Tony nomination for Cranston who is pitted against Chris O'Dowd ("Of Mice and Men"), Samuel Barnett ("Twelfth Night"), Mark Rylance ("Richard III") and Tony Shalhoub ("Act One") in the best actor in a play category.

The lead nominee this year is Robert L. Freedman and Steven Lutvak's comedy "A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder". It was given 10 nominations, including the best musical.

The 2014 Tony Awards will be held and broadcast from Radio City Music Hall in New York on June 8 at 8 P.M. ET/PT on CBS. Hugh Jackman is hosting. The full list of nominees can be found on the official website.
