Anna Kendrick was among performers at the 2013 Kennedy Center Honors which was held earlier this month. At the event which was attended by President Barrack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, the 28-year-old singer performed a tribute to legendary actress Shirley MacLaine.

Looking beautiful in a red dress, Kendrick belted out "It's Not Where You Start, It's Where You Finish" from the Broadway show "Seesaw". Kendrick then entered the stage again with Broadway stars Sutton Foster, Patina Miller, and Karen Olivo to perform "Lord Help Us, We Love Her".

Garth Brooks, meanwhile, performed two songs in honor of Billy Joel. The country superstar sang "Allentown" and "Goodnight Saigon". Also paying tribute to Joel, Rufus Wainwright performed "New York State of Mind" and "Piano Man".

Other performers included Don Henley, Steve Winwood, Sheila E. and Buddy Guy.

In addition to MacLaine and Joel, Guitarist Carlos Santana, jazz pianist Herbie Hancock and opera singer Martina Arroyo received the Kennedy Center Honor for influencing American culture through the arts.
