Anna Kendrick, the director and star of the Netflix film "Woman of the Hour," has donated all her earnings from the film to RAINN and the National Center for Victims of Violent Crime.

AceShowbiz - Anna Kendrick, the director and star of the Netflix film "Woman of the Hour", has donated all her earnings from the film to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) and the National Center for Victims of Violent Crime.
Kendrick revealed in an interview on the "Crime Junkie AF" podcast that she felt "gross" about profiting from a film about serial killer Rodney Alcala, played by Daniel Zovatto. She shared that her decision to donate her pay stemmed from her own experiences with emotional abuse.
Kendrick initially directed and starred in the film because she connected with the subject matter. However, she later realized that the film would potentially generate revenue. Faced with this dilemma, she decided to donate her earnings to organizations supporting survivors of sexual assault and violent crime.
"The money is going to - or has gone to - RAINN and to the National Center for Victims of Violent Crime," Kendrick explained. "That felt like the least that I could do."
Scott Berkowitz, founder and president of RAINN, expressed gratitude for Kendrick's support, noting that her donation will assist with the organization's free, 24/7 National Sexual Assault Hotline.
The National Center for Victims of Crime also praised Kendrick's advocacy for a victim-centered approach in true crime storytelling. CEO Renée Williams said, "Anna's work in 'Woman of the Hour' stands out as a beacon of compassion and leadership... Her support sends a strong message that we can engage with hard truths while honoring the experiences of victims and survivors."
