Just a couple of weeks after it was first reported that actress Nina Dobrev and choreographer Derek Hough were in a relationship, word has come out that the pair has already seen the end of their short-lived romance. They apparently decided to part ways due to the nature of their work, forcing the relationship that reportedly began in August to "play itself out."

It was only last October 5 when the 24-year-old TV star and the 28-year-old pro dancer went public for the first time as a couple when they attended Universal Studio's Hollywood Halloween Horror Nights in Los Angeles. Before that sighting, they were rumored to be seeing each other, fueled further by tweets exchanged between the two after the "Dancing with the Stars" pro won an Emmy.

Prior to dating Hough, Dobrev was involved in a much longer relationship with her "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Ian Somerhalder, a romance that began in 2011 and ended in May this year. With Hough, a friend of the recent pair disclosed "the distance was too much to handle," as the "DWTS" dancer tapes in Los Angeles while Dobrev shoots her hit TV drama series in Atlanta, Georgia.

Despite the split-up, Dobrev and Hough are said to be keen on keeping their friendship, a connection involving another dancer, Julianne Hough, Derek's sister and Dobrev's BFF, there being supposedly "no hard feelings" between the two.
