Multiple Grammy Award-winning singer Stevie Wonder has expressed his disapproval over the recent not guilty verdict handed to slain teenager Trayvon Martin's shooter George Zimmerman. The 63-year-old Soul Music Hall of Famer has vowed not to perform in Florida until the "Stand Your Ground" law, which was used as a key defense argument leading to the acquittal, is repealed.

"I decided today that until the Stand Your Ground law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again," the iconic artist said right in front of the crowd at his Quebec City concert on Sunday. He even went further by deciding that he would do the same for any other state or country that has a similar ruling, saying, "As a matter of fact, wherever I find that law exists, I will not perform in that state or in that part of the world."

Wonder is making the stand as he said in his words, "What we can do is we can let our voices be heard", to call for "change and equality for everybody." He is one of many celebrities who have since reacted to Saturday's judgment by a six-woman jury over the February racially-charged shooting death of the unarmed 17-year-old Martin by neighborhood watch volunteer Zimmerman.

According to prosecutors, white/Hispanic Zimmerman shot and killed African-American Martin after he suspected the teenager of being a criminal because he was black. Zimmerman's lawyers said their client's actions were done in self-defense and that the "Stand Your Ground" law allowed him to use deadly force for fear of his life.
