Bieber gets triple victory, walking home with three coveted AMA prizes Favorite Male Pop/Rock Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Album and the top honor Artist of the Year.

Justin Bieber became the most celebrated artist at this year's American Music Awards. Although he's only been in the industry for a few years, the teen managed to upstage his seniors by taking home the most prizes and grabbing the top prize, Artist of the Year.

The newly-single artist pocketed a total of three awards, including Favorite Male Pop/Rock Artist and Favorite Pop/Rock Album. When accepting his first prize of the evening, he fired back at his critics by stressing that he's "going to be around for many years to come."

Bieber returned to the stage to collect the top honor near the end of the show. He took his mother to the stage with him and thanked her for becoming his No. 1 supporter since Day 1. Looking speechless, he accepted the prize from will.i.am after tribute to Dick Clark.

Following Bieber's domination was Nicki Minaj with double victory. The female rapper won Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album. She won over the dudes, beating Drake and Tyga in the former category and pushing aside Drizzy and J. Cole in the latter.

The likes of Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Carly Rae Jepsen and Usher also didn't walk home empty-handed as they got one each. Beyonce Knowles, Rihanna, Adele and Katy Perry who were not spotted among the crowd were winners as well.
