The rapper, who has a new moniker Snoop Lion, is not permitted to enter Norway for two years after attempting to enter the country with eight grams of marijuana.

Snoop Dogg won't be able to visit Norway for the next two years. The rapper is denied entry to the country after he was busted for carrying eight grams of marijuana in his luggage while on his way to a music festival last month.
Snoop is not allowed to enter Norway for two years due to the offense. His representative, Holger Hagesaeter, reacts to the ban by saying that the rhymer "can live with the decision" and currently doesn't have plans to appeal it.
He was set to perform at the Hovefestival in Arendal on June 28, but he was forced to scrap it when sniffer dogs found he brought pot. He's also found carrying more cash than was legally allowed. He admitted the two offenses and was fined 52,000 kroner ($8,600).
Stateside, the West Coast MC was also arrested in several occasions due to similar issues. Last January, he was arrested in Texas for carrying weed. He was detained at a border-control checkpoint in Sierra Blanca after a drug-sniffing dog found half an ounce of marijuana in a waste basket of his tour bus.
Despite being notoriously pot friendly, Snoop advised fellow musician Mark Foster of Foster the People not to do drugs. Mark recalled his encounter with the MC, "I told Snoop, 'I quit smoking but I'd have one with you now if I had the chance'."
Snoop, however, told Mark as quoted by Q magazine, "Y'know what, brother: sometimes you gotta slow down and focus on your s***'." The singer added, "From the godfather of marijuana smoking! That was good enough for me."
As a pre-cursor for the release of his new album "Reincarnated", Snoop will next make his debut as Snoop Lion in a gig dubbed "Caribana 2012: Snoop Lion in the Jungle." He hyped it up, "For the first time ever, watch Snoop Lion in the Jungle on August 3, 2012 in Toronto!"
