Channing Tatum could be Superman in his next movie. The "Magic Mike" actor has been courted to voice the Man of Steel in Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming "Lego: The Piece of Resistance". According to Variety, the hunky actor hasn't closed his deal yet due to his busy schedule, but directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller want the thesp to reunite with them after working together in "21 Jump Street".
While Tatum hasn't officially committed to the project, Will Arnett has been sealed to lend his voice to Batman. He will be joined by Chris Pratt, who is set to voice the live-action hybrid movie's lead character called Emmet.
Official plot details of "Lego" haven't been revealed, but according to Variety, the movie centers on Emmet who is an ordinary, law-abiding Lego mini-figure. He is mistaken for the most extraordinary MasterBuilder. Emmet then gets pulled into a fellowship of strangers during a quest to stop an evil tyrant from ruling the world.
The movie project has been in development since 2008, but has just received a green light in 2011. In addition to serving behind the lens, Lord and Miller team up to provide the script. The film itself is skedded for a February 28, 2014 release in the United States.
Tatum's next projects include Roland Emmerich's actioner "White House Down" and Bennett Miller's sci-fi pic "Foxcatcher", while Arnett will reprise his role as Chris Brinkley in the second season of NBC's "Up All Night". As for Pratt, his upcoming project is Kathryn Bigelow's movie about the hunt for Osama Bin Laden, "Zero Dark Thirty (2012)".
