There may have been theories about Jim Parsons' sexuality but they are no longer needed. The Sheldon Cooper of "The Big Bang Theory" officially came out as gay in New York Times profile of him.
The two-time Emmy winner did not give a direct quote about his revelation but NY Times' Patrick Healy wrote, "The Normal Heart resonated with him on a few level. Mr. Parsons is gay and in a 10-year relationship, and working with an ensemble again onstage was like nourishment, he said."
The article was discussing Parsons' theater work, naming his participation in Broadway revivals of "The Normal Heart".
Like many closeted actors, Parsons did not go into details about his personal life, as much for his partner's identity. National Enquirer claimed in its article two years ago that Parsons was engaged to longtime partner Todd Spiewak whose name was mentioned in his thank-you speech at the 2010 Golden Globes right after his mom's.
