"The Hunger Games" was inevitably spoofed on "Saturday Night Live" due to its popularity. The past weekend's episode was hosted by "Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara who plays an obnoxious reporter covering the games like any other sports event.

Wearing a pink wig and red suit, Vergara channeled Elizabeth Banks' Effie Trinket to report for Capitol TV. She was eager to interview the contestants on location in the Games arena. Each of the contestants she interviewed died by a competitor's hand after her segments. Then she came into contact with Katniss, played by Abby Elliott and asked a lot of questions about her love life.

Fred Armisen and Bill Hader also appeared in the sketch as Claudius and Caesar respectively with the latter delivering a message from the sponsor, "The Hunger Games is brought to you by Tylenol. 'Spear in your head?' Tylenol."

Vergara, who hosted the night with One Direction as the musical guest, also delivered the funny on her monologue. "Forgive me if you cannot understand what I say," she said about her Colombian accent, adding, "and I will forgive you for staring at my chest the whole night." She later said that her accent can actually make anything sound sexy even unflattering words such as gonorrhea, Rick Santorum and New Jersey.
