Following reports that he's in negotiations to tackle a role on the next season of the Ryan Murphy-created show, the Maroon 5 frontman has now commented, "It is the truth. I mean, it's pretty much happening. I think it's happening."

Claiming he can't reveal too much about his role because the show's creator, Murphy, "is very under wraps," the rocker gushed, "It's going to be fun. And I told [Murphy] I really didn't know what I was doing but he didn't seem to really care. So I'm just going to go and try to [do] acting." Confirming that he will play himself, the 33-year-old singer added, "I think I'm going to be kind of playing myself so hopefully it will be easy."

Levine, who recently separated from model girlfriend Anna Vyalitsyna, went on crediting Murphy for giving him a chance to star on the FX hit series. "He's [Murphy] really great," he told E! Online. "And I love the fact that he believes in me to throw me out there."

Entertainment Weekly previously revealed that the mentor of "The Voice" will play a contemporary character, who is described as half of a couple called "The Lovers". Words were, the producers of the horror show are willing to shoot the sophomore season around his touring schedule this summer.

Beside Levine, Jessica Lange, Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe have been confirmed to star in the second season of "AHS". The five actors, who appeared in the show's first season, will portray brand new characters.
