AceShowbiz - Gearing up for the first live show in season 2, "The Voice" completed the 24 finalists in the last battle rounds on Monday, March 26. The task proved to be hard for Cee-Lo Green as he shed tears when he had to pick between James Massone and WADE, who were brought together to perform Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors".
The Gnarls Barkley singer told WADE, "I expected you to go all the way to the end of this with me." However, he couldn't deny James' dominance during the latest performance. After the other judges expressed their favors for James, the "F**k You" hitmaker decided to send the Massachusetts guy to the next round.
Cee-Lo later put Tony Vincent against Justin Hopkins to perform Journey's "Faithfully". The two singers brought their mentor to tears during rehearsal. The other judges were divided after watching their performance, with Adam Levine rooting for Justin and Christina Aguilera leaning on Tony. Cee-Lo finally made the "toughest" decision and picked Tony to go through the live show.
Adam himself had to pick between Mathai and Nicolle Galyon after they performed a duet of "Love Song" by Sara Bareilles. The Maroon 5 frontman said he wasn't "happy" with the performance overall, but landed his pick on Mathai who also got the other mentor's support.
Adam's final battle saw Karla Davis and Orlando Napier fighting off each other in delivering "Easy" by Lionel Richie. Christina thought the performance was "lackluster," but said Karla won the battle. Blake Shelton and Cee-Lo, however, preferred Orlando to Karla. Calling the decision "difficult," Adam chose to keep Karla on the show.
In team Christina, duo THE LiNE were paired against Moses Stone to perform The Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction". Despite Adam and Blake Shelton's favors for THE LiNE's vocals, the "Fighter" songstress chose to bring Moses to the next round.
Blake, meanwhile, paired Naia Kete and Jordan Rager to perform Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours". Christina, Cee-Lo and Adam chose Naia. Blake praised Jordan for having stepped up, but in the end he chose Naia because she has more "experience."
Next Monday, April 2, "The Voice" will return with a live show at 8/7c on NBC.
