"30 Rock" will feature the story of Kim Jong Il's death as it returns to the small screen on January 12. The show's producer Robert Carlock revealed to Us Weekly that Tina Fey and the writer crew are set to plot the December 18, 2011 death of the North Korean dictator for the upcoming episode.

The story will take place where the last season of "30 Rock" left out. At that time, Jong Il (played by Margaret Cho) kidnapped Jack Donaght's (Alec Baldwin) wife, journalist Avery Jessup (Elizabeth Banks), in North Korea while traveling on assignment. As Avery was kept captive, Jack was forced to raise their daughter on his own.

"Jack's love life is pretty complicated and it just got more complicated because I think, technically, Avery is the First Lady of North Korea," explained Carlock. He added that Fey and the writers had adjusted the plot for Jong Il, saying, "We sort of went back to the script because we'd already shot eight or nine episodes and we realized that luckily we hadn't referred to King Jong Il by name yet, just to North Korea in general."

"We can't go back and address the changes there, but the fun puzzle is turning around and trying to figure out how to get her out of there and how to continue things," the producer continued. "Maybe we'll have to have Margaret Cho showing up again having faked her death, because she wants to get a gig on a morning talk show."

"30 Rock" season 6 episode 1, "Dance Like Nobody's Watching", will premiere on NBC on Januray 12 at 8P.M. EST.
