Some people boycott the cable channel unless it bans the 'Real Time with Bill Maher' host following his controversial comment about the Denver Broncos Christian quarterback.

AceShowbiz - Bill Maher has put his show and the network which airs it in trouble with his offensive tweet about devout Christian Tim Tebow. Some tweeps call for a boycott on HBO unless the cable channel bans the "Real Time with Bill Maher" host.

"Boycott HBO until they cancel Bill Maher!" one Twitter user named Todd Shaffer wrote. Another tweep responded, "Bill Maher should be banned. Decency is not in his vocabulary. Disgusting taster for words, as usual."

Maher received the backlash after mocking Tebow via his Twitter account. "Wow, Jesus just f**ked #TimTebow bad! And on Xmas Eve! Somewhere ... Satan is tebowing, saying to Hitler 'Hey, Buffalo's killing them.'," the atheist comedian wrote following the Denver Broncos' loss to the Buffalo Bills on Christmas Eve.

"Follow the Money" host Eric Bolling was one of those offended by Maher's comment, writing on his own Twitter page, "Bill Maher is disgusting vile trash. I can't even repeat what he just tweeted about Tebow..on Christmas Eve. #straighttohellBill."

Tebow himself, who is famous for getting down on his knee to pray on field during a game, has not responded to Maher's offensive statement. Instead, he took to Twitter after the NFL game, "Tough game today but what's most important is being able to celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Merry Christmas everyone GB2."

Just a week before, "Saturday Night Live" also landed on hot water after taking a jab at the quarterback. Televangelist Pat Robertson branded a skit, which features Jason Sudeikis' Jesus telling Taran Killam's Tebow to concentrate on his game and ease up on the praise, an "anti-Christian bigotry."
