In addition to Jolie, other actors like Kenneth Branagh, Seth Rogen and Jean Dujardin are celebrating their nominations at the prestigious 69th Golden Globe Awards.

AceShowbiz - Angelina Jolie couldn't hide her happiness after her directorial debut "In the Land of Blood and Honey" was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the 69th Golden Globe Awards. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Jolie said that she was driving two of her kids to the dentist when she heard that her movie has landed a nomination at the prestigious awards.

"I was on my way and turned on my phone, and saw the subject line on an email. I thought, this can't be," the long-time partner of actor Brad Pitt said in a phone interview. "Just to be able to make a film you care about and then get a distributor makes you happy."

Jolie later released a statement to express her excitement. "I am grateful that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association is honoring our film. This was a true collaboration and I am forever indebted to our cast and crew, who experienced their own personal tragedies in the Bosnian War and gave me an authentic perspective into the conflict," she said. "This nomination is a tribute to the collective talent and passion of this extraordinary cast."

The 36-year-old actress was not the only movie star who celebrates the nominations. "My Week with Marilyn" actor Kenneth Branagh, who was nominated for Best Performance in a Supporting Role, told MTV News, "To be recognized for portraying one of the greatest actors of our time is truly an honor, and I am incredibly thankful to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for their continued support of our film."

He added, "Working alongside Michelle [Williams] was an extremely rewarding experience, and I'm thrilled that both she and our excellent team of filmmakers have also been recognized for their incredible work. I feel very blessed to be nominated for a role that is so close to my heart."

Actor/Producer Seth Rogen, meanwhile, shared to The New York Times about "50/50" nomination for Best Comedy/Musical. "I think you can make a comedy about any subject if you approach it correctly. The truthfulness of the story, in this case, was key. I don't think we would have even thought to make the movie if we hadn't experienced it," he said.

On the other hand, Jean Dujardin admitted he was speechless after being nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy/Musical for his role in silent drama "The Artist". He said in a statement, "Thank you so much to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for this incredible gift. To be recognized alongside such brilliant actors is an honor. The Golden Globe nomination for 'The Artist' has left me speechless!"

"The Artist" helmer Michel Hazanavicius, who was also nominated for Best Director, added, "It's a great privilege and an honor for us to be nominated for a Golden Globe award by the HFPA. This movie is a love letter to Hollywood, and it's an incredible joy to receive the news. I feel lucky, proud and excited to be included alongside such brilliant movies. Thank you."

The motion picture nominees for the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced on Wednesday night, December 14. "The Artist" led the pack with six noms in total, while George Clooney's "The Descendants" trailed behind with five. Winners of the prestigious awards will be revealed during a January 15, 2012 ceremony, which will be hosted by Ricky Gervais.
