In his rebuttal filing, Terrence also claims that Michelle Ghent, who won a temporary restraining order against him, has been threatening to 'release private materials' unless he paid her money.

AceShowbiz - Terrence Howard is fighting back his estranged wife's accusations. In legal papers that he filed in response to Michelle Ghent's sworn declaration to get a restraining order against him, the actor who played Joe Dekker on "Law & Order: Los Angeles" denied he has ever threatened to kill her.

The 42-year-old actor also accused Michelle of threatening to "release private materials to 3rd parties for her own personal financial gain" unless he paid her money. He additionally wrote, "I live in constant fear of Michelle's endeavors to ruin my reputation; even providing this declaration may well lead to my being subjected to a paparazzi blitz which would not be good for my career."

Michelle herself was granted a temporary restraining order against Terrence on Tuesday, December 6. In her court documents, she dished that the Lt. Col James Rhodes of 2008's "Iron Man" began physically abusing her within a week after they were married in January 2010.

The second wife of the "Winnie" actor also claimed he chipped her tooth with his wedding ring, threatened to throw her off a balcony and threw her down to the ground in a parking lot. Accordingly, he also made nasty comments such as "If you tell anyone about my personal business, I will kill you and no one will ever know" and "B***h, walk home. That's my car, I pay for it."

The TRO obtained by Michelle, who has filed for divorce from Terrence in February 2011, orders the "Hustle & Flow" actor not to contact or go within 100 yards of her. It remains in effect until a court hearing on January 17, 2012.
