Casey Anthony's Murder Trial to Be Turned Into TV Movie

Lifetime is developing the project based on retired prosecutor Jeff Ashton's book which details how the prosecutors brought the headline-making case to court.

AceShowbiz - Lifetime is developing another court case into a TV movie. This time, the cable network is going to present the story of Casey Anthony's murder trial based on the book by retired prosecutor Jeff Ashton, "Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony".

Fox Television Studios has optioned the rights to the book, although Lifetime has not given a greenlight to the project. The TV movie would follow the three years Ashton and his team spent trying to convict Anthony of the murder of her daughter, Caylee.

Ashton's book has just been released on Tuesday, November 15. In it, the retired Florida prosecutor shares his belief in Anthony's guilt. "I have seen my share of liars, but never one quite like this," he writes as quoted by the Orlando Sentinel.

Casey Anthony was acquitted by a Florida jury in July following the trial regarding to the disappearance of her 2-year-old daughter in 2008.
