TV

Breaking the news was 'Idol' host Ryan Seacrest by tweeting, 'I only have one word for our mentor on @AmericanIdol next week.......... Gaga.'

AceShowbiz - Lady GaGa will share her musical knowledge with "American Idol" finalists. The "Judas" singer is set to mentor the remaining contestants in the top 4 week, FOX has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly. The news was first revealed by host Ryan Seacrest who wrote on his Twitter, "I only have one word for our mentor on @AmericanIdol next week.......... Gaga."

GaGa will team up with "Idol" in-house mentor Jimmy Iovine, who is also her record label boss, to give advices to the four finalists: Lauren Alaina, Scotty McCreery, James Durbin and Haley Reinhart. She will guide the foursome in picking songs from the catalog of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller before the performance show on Wednesday night, May 11.

Interestingly, during the last performance show on May 4, Haley sang GaGa's song "You and I" following Jimmy's suggestion. Judge Jennifer Lopez, however, was not fond of her choice, commenting "It would have been a better choice to choose something that everybody knew."

GaGa herself has just released a music video for her single "Judas" from upcoming album "Born This Way". Speaking of the clip which has been criticized for its biblical imagery, the dance queen said, "I don't view the video as a religious statement. I view it as social statement. I view it as a cultural statement. It's a metaphor. It's not meant to be a biblical lesson."
