These four celebrities would help the coaches in shaping the contestants who advance from blind audition stage to the 'battles', providing advice and selecting songs.

AceShowbiz - Having Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee-Lo Green and Blake Shelton on its coach seats are apparently not enough for "The Voice". NBC announced on Friday, April 29 that the new vocal competition series is recruiting Reba McEntire, Monica, Sia Furler and Adam Blackstone to join as the advisers.

These four new ones will take part in the next "Battles" competition phase which lasts four episodes, paired with the original four. Aguilera will team up with Furler, Levine with Blackstone, Green with Monica and Shelton with McEntire. NBC said they will eventually cut their teams in half by pitting two of their own artists against each other in a series of dueling duets.

McEntire, Monica, Furler and Blackstone were picked because "they are in the trusted inner circle of the respective musician coach that they are helping". Their job is to help the coaches in selecting songs that would suit the contestants and provide advice for the performance before the competition moves on to the live performance stage.

"The Voice", which next airs Tuesday, May 3, is still in the first stage of the competition which is blind audition. Then the competition enters into a battle phase, and finally, the live performance shows. During the "Battle" rounds, the coaches will pit two of their own team members against each other to sing the same song together in front of a studio audience.

After the vocal face-off, the coach must choose which of his/her singers will advance. At the end of the Battle episodes, only the strongest members of each coach's roster remain and proceed to the live stage shows.
