Todd Phillips has finally confirmed previous rumors that "The Hangover 2" will be set in Thailand in addition to Los Angeles. "It takes place in Bangkok and LA," the helmer reveals in an interview with Empire Online. Teasing further about the film, he says, "There's gonna be some fucked-up surprises."

This follow-up to 2009 "The Hangover" is scheduled to kick start production later this October and Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms as well as Ken Jeong are going to return. "The three guys are back," Phillips says, before adding "Mr. Chow's [Jeong's character] back too."

Phillips additionally claims that "Hangover 2" will not be a failed sequel, telling Empire "I'm not delusional. I know what I'm up against. I saw 'Meet the Fockers'. But we're aiming high. It's called The Hangover Part Two, you know."

Scot Armstrong is hired to write the script for this upcoming comedy, which is targeted for Memorial Day (May 26) 2011 release in the U.S.
