Rihanna plays it literally hard for "Hard" music video. She is the tough woman who has control over her military troop, a woman who walks through a minefield and a sexy girl who is not afraid to get dirty.
Directed by Melina Matsoukas, the video was premiered on MTV Thursday, December 17. To get some fans reaction of the video, MTV News brought the video to Times Square, in a small player, and noted down the comments. "It's cool because it shows a lot of where she's going and where she came from, and as far as she's growing up and dealing with a lot of adversities that she's been going through lately," said a fan.
Rihanna herself had described the video as "something military". She elaborated, "We have tanks, we have troops, we've got helicopters, we've got explosions. We've got lots of cute outfits, lots of bullets. It's crazy!"
"Hard" is one of the tracks pulled out of "Rated R" as a single featuring Young Jeezy. The album was released on November 23 and sold 181,000 copies in its first week.
