A representative for Alexa Ray Joel has confirmed that the singer-songwriter is "feeling much better" after her weekend hospitalization which was prompted by an alleged suicide attempt. "She is with her family and looking forward to getting back on track," reveals the representative.

The representative, moreover, states that Alexa herself is thanking "everyone for their outpouring of love and support." It is not disclosed on where the 23-year-old music star is currently staying, but reports claim she will be staying with her father Billy Joel as she recuperates.

Alexa Ray Joel is the daughter of Billy Joel and his former wife, supermodel Christie Brinkley, who were married from 1985 to 1994. She was taken to St. Vincent's Hospital on Saturday afternoon, December 5 after a possible suicide attempt.

Details regarding the incident are still sketchy as neither Alexa nor her camp has explained the root of her hospitalization. However, it has been reported that Alexa "was apparently distraught over an argument with her boyfriend" that she then consumed eight tablets of Traumeel, a homeopathic medication. Moments later, "she became worried about breathing, which is why 911 was called." Billy himself has previously assured reporters that his daughter "is going to be fine."
