Melissa George Confirms Exit From 'Grey's Anatomy'

The Dr. Sadie in 'Grey's Anatomy' confirms that she will report to duty for the last time this week.

Dr. Sadie Harris apparently won't stay at Seattle Grace Hospital for longer period of time in the hit drama series "Grey's Anatomy". The bisexual character's depicter, Melissa George, has said that she quits from the show at her own request. "It was my choice," she told EW's Michael Ausiello. "My last day of work is Tuesday."

George's character was introduced back in November 2008, in a four episodes deal which was later extended to another four because she receives warm welcome from the audience. While other sources say that George never intended to go beyond the four, the actress told Ausiello during the Golden Globes after-party on Sunday, January 11, that she is doing "something else" as the reason of the exit.

"I love the show so much," she said. "I've made some beautiful friends. I love T.R. Knight. I love Patrick Dempsey, Justin Chambers... I adore Ellen Pompeo. I think she's a strong, incredible woman. And Katherine Heigl is the most beautiful creature on Earth."

There was a proposal thrown out for Sadie to be made a regular cast but Sadie's personal life where she seems to be more involved romantically with both women and men at the hospital rather than curing people, may come as a boomerang for the character. "When you take out your insides and you're hitting on every guy and girl in the hospital... you have to pull back," George said. "She's a doctor. You have to be professional. For her, she had to stop doing that or else she would've been kicked out."

She added that her last episode "won't be a big send-off, but it's really cool what they do."
