According to MTV's press release on October 9, Whitney Port will be absent for 'The Hills' new series considering her own spin-off, 'The City'.

MTV announced that Whitney Port will no longer be involved in "The Hills" series starting early 2009. The Teen Vogue former fashion contributor will get her own spin-off called "The City" that will show her journey in New York City as a new employee of Diane Von Furstenberg.
The series will feature Whitney's struggle in pursuing fashion world career. The circumstance is related to "The Hills" previous season of Whitney's job with People Revolution that requires her to divide her time between Los Angeles and New York City.
Whitney's new series has already been filmed and took a scene at the home of Olivia Palermo but has not had an air date yet.
"I am thrilled and honored to be in New York City, not only working for one of the most renowned fashion designers, Diane Von Furstenberg, but to be able to mature as a young woman both professionally and personally," Port said.
"The Hills" is an American reality TV series which is spin-off of the popular MTV's "Laguna Beach". It shows the lives of Lauren Conrad and her friends, including Port, in Los Angeles after moving from Laguna Beach.
