Nelly is embarking his career beyond music, invading the worlds of modeling and TV acting. The internationally renowned recording artist has been hired as the new spokesmodel for P. Diddy's new Sean John underwear line.
The clothing company confirmed the deal Monday, July 28. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed though.
On choosing Nelly to model his Sean John underwear line, music mogul Diddy explained, "To me, Nelly is the quintessential definition of the Sean John man. He has the attitude, the swagger and most of all, the physique that our customers can both aspire and relate to. And let's be honest, all of the ladies out there are going to be thanking us for this campaign. The images are so strong; they speak for themselves."
Nelly himself admitted he's been a "big fan" of Diddy and his Sean John clothing line for years. "So when they asked me to work with them, it was a real honor. I hope my fans will enjoy this campaign as much as I did shooting it," he said.
Advertisements for the underwear line, shot by Randee St. Nicholas, feature Nelly wearing underwear and loungewear inside and outside a modern home overlooking Los Angeles. The first ad is on the net and can be seen after this news.
As for his acting career, Nelly reportedly is set to join the cast of "CSI: New York" for a multi-episode stint. Word on the block is that he will be tapped to portray a club owner who provides valuable information to Mac and his team.
