Following the surfacing rumors stating that Madonna is planning to develop the modern version of classic film "Casablanca", latest reports claimed that the story is a false one. According to TMZ, the pop star legend and her camp have slammed down the speculations that the 49-year-old singer is going to do a remake of the romantic film.
The denial response came after it was reported earlier that the wife of acclaimed director Guy Richie reportedly wanted to resurrect her acting career by starring in the new version of the film that is considered to be one of the greatest films of all time. At the time, a source revealed, "She is still determined to make it in the movies. She and her representatives have been touting around a project which is a remake of Casablanca."
Further, it was reported that the Material Girl has thought of setting the film in the modern war zone, such as Iraq. Madonna was also said to be eyeing the lead role of Ilsa Lund, who was originally starred by Ingrid Bergman.
