Screened on the same day as "Atonement", thriller mystery "Sleuth" also got its North American premiere held on Monday, September 10, 2007 as part of the 2007 Toronto International Film Festival's Gala Presentation program.
Taking place at Roy Thompson Hall, the premiere was marked with the attendance of the two leading actors Michael Caine and Jude Law as well as that of director Kenneth Branagh.
While Caine and Branagh both preferred wearing dark shirt for the occasion, Law opted for the white one instead, plus a tie. The latter was spotted to eagerly sign autographs for fans during his way to the venue while a number of cameras flashed lights on him continuously.
A remake to the 1972 cat-and-mouse flick of the same name, "Sleuth" was first announced to be made by Branagh last year during the celebration of the 63rd Venice Film Festival. Caine was then hired to play Andrew Wyke while Law got billed as Milo Tindle, the character that Caine portrayed before in the original version.
