Still selling more than one million copies every year worldwide after 40 years, rock band The Doors finally received its "Star" in Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording category last Wednesday Feb 28.
Represented by only two out of the present three members, Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger accepted the 2,325th star which is located near the famous Kodak Theatre. Meanwhile, its third surviving members, the drummer John Densmore could not make it to the event due to an interview in a local radio. Bidding his regards through the late vocalist Jim Morrison's nephew he said, "It is a great honor to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame … a street that Jim Morrison, Robby Krieger and I traipsed up and down, going into bars, asking if they'd hire a rock band."
The band was famous for its two hits "Light My Fire" and "L.A. Woman", but had been dissolved in early 1970s mainly after Morrison's death in 1971. Though they still remained America's controversial band especially for its obscure lyrics and unpredictable stage act.
