Joined by Nirvana's Krist Novoselic and Willie Nelson's guitarist son Micah Nelson, John Densmore and Robby Krieger perform at the inaugural Homeward Bound concert.

AceShowbiz - The Doors stars John Densmore and Robby Krieger staged a long-awaited reunion in Los Angeles on Thursday night (January 23) to raise funds for a local homeless charity.

The rock veterans were joined onstage by Nirvana's Krist Novoselic and Willie Nelson's guitarist son Micah Nelson for the inaugural Homeward Bound concert - a fundraiser for the nonprofit People Assisting the Homeless.

The group performed The Doors classics with a revolving list of singers, including Fitz & the Tantrums' Michael Fitzpatrick, Ingrid Michaelson, Haley Reinhart, Jason Mraz, Phillip Phillips, and Maddie Poppe, all standing in for the late Jim Morrison.

"Our singer is in Paris," Densmore joked, referring to the fact Morrison, who died in 1971, was laid to rest at the Pere Lachaise cemetery.

Densmore and Krieger last hit a stage together for a full show two decades ago. Krieger also hit the road with another late The Doors bandmate, Ray Manzarek, when they formed The Doors of the 21st Century (aka Riders of the Storm) at the start of the new century. Densmore, who challenged their initial group name, was never part of the band.
