In a chillingly modern take on the horror genre, a group of high school friends find their late-night video chat hijacked by a mysterious, uninvited participant. As Shelley Hennig's Blaire and her friends, including Renee Olstead's Jess and Will Peltz's Adam, try to continue their casual conversation, they are confronted by a figure claiming to be Laura Barns, a classmate who tragically took her own life after being mercilessly cyberbullied. The entity, operating from a seemingly hacked account, refuses to let anyone log off, trapping the teens in a digital nightmare that unfolds entirely on their computer screens. Directed by Levan Gabriadze and produced by horror maestro Timur Bekmambetov, this relentless thriller masterfully builds tension as the unseen force forces the group to confront their own roles in the past harassment, exposing secrets and turning friends against each other. The film’s unique, screen-based perspective creates an immersive and claustrophobic atmosphere, making the familiar terrain of social media and desktop applications feel unnervingly sinister. As the night progresses and the consequences of their past actions come to light, each character must face a terrifying reckoning for the sins they thought were hidden behind a username.
