For animal lovers with a taste for the absurd, Steve Zahn stars as Peter Gaulke, the well-meaning but hopelessly incompetent host of a failing wildlife television show called Strange Wilderness. Alongside his loyal but equally clueless producer, Fred Wolf (played by Allen Covert), and a ragtag crew including the dimwitted Junior (a young Justin Long), Peter is desperate to save his beloved program from cancellation. In a last-ditch effort to revive ratings, the team sets out on a disastrous expedition to the Andes Mountains in search of the legendary Bigfoot, convinced that capturing footage of the mythical creature will secure their future. Their journey is a relentless parade of mishaps, from run-ins with hostile hunters to dangerous encounters with wild animals, all fueled by a staggering amount of marijuana and sheer incompetence. Directed by Fred Wolf, this R-rated comedy revels in its crude humor and over-the-top antics, with a supporting cast that includes Robert Patrick, Ashley Scott, Harry Hamlin, and Ernest Borgnine. As the crew stumbles from one catastrophe to another, their friendship is tested, but their unwavering belief in the impossible keeps them pushing forward in this hilarious ode to nature documentaries gone terribly wrong.
