Bewitched
In Columbia Pictures' beguiling romantic comedy, Bewitched, an all-star cast led by Nicole Kidman, Will Ferrell, Shirl...
In the not-so-distant future, a retired cat burglar named Frank, played with gruff charm by Frank Langella, lives a solitary existence, his memory fraying and his family growing distant. His well-meaning son, portrayed by James Marsden, brings him a robotic caretaker, a sleek, voice-activated machine designed to improve his health and home. Initially resistant to this programmed intrusion, Frank soon discovers that the robot, voiced by Peter Sarsgaard, can be reprogrammed for a far more thrilling purpose than folding laundry. Rediscovering his old skills, Frank forms an unlikely partnership with the robot, turning to a life of small-time heists that rekindle his sense of purpose. This clever blend of drama and comedy, directed by Jake Schreier, explores themes of aging, memory, and companionship with a surprisingly tender touch. As Frank’s friendship with his mechanical partner deepens, he must navigate the suspicions of a local librarian, played by Susan Sarandon, and the growing concern of his daughter, portrayed by Liv Tyler, leading to a poignant and witty examination of what it truly means to connect.
