In the final years of a literary giant, an unexpected friendship blossoms that will forever change a young man's life. Directed by Bob Yari, this intimate biographical drama follows Ed Myers, a struggling journalist played by Giovanni Ribisi, who reaches out to his idol, the legendary writer Ernest Hemingway, portrayed by Adrian Sparks. To Ed's astonishment, Hemingway invites him to his home in Cuba, pulling the wide-eyed writer into the turbulent, vibrant world of "Papa" himself. As Ed is welcomed into the inner circle, including Hemingway's devoted wife Mary, played by Joely Richardson, he witnesses the author's magnetic charm, profound generosity, and the deep, consuming shadows of his inner turmoil. Set against the backdrop of pre-revolutionary Havana, the film paints a raw and poignant portrait of mentorship, artistic passion, and the complex man behind the myth, exploring the profound impact one life can have on another.
