Fresh out of prison after serving a three-year sentence, Tommy (Tim Allen) is determined to turn over a new leaf and reconnect with his family. However, his well-intentioned plans for a quiet, law-abiding life are hilariously thwarted by the very people who are supposed to support him. His overbearing mother (Sigourney Weaver) is eager to micromanage his every move, his skeptical sister (Jeanne Tripplehorn) doubts his ability to change, and his old crew, including a menacing former associate (Ray Liotta), have no intention of letting him leave the criminal world behind. Directed by Tim Allen, this lighthearted comedy explores the chaos that ensues when a man trying to do the right thing finds himself surrounded by the wrong influences. With a stellar supporting cast including J.K. Simmons, Kelsey Grammer, and Julie Bowen, the film blends family dysfunction with fish-out-of-water humor, delivering a warm yet wry look at second chances. As Tommy struggles to prove he’s no longer crazy on the outside, he must navigate a minefield of temptation, loyalty, and absurdity, all while holding onto his fragile dream of a fresh start.
