Based on the 2011 novel "Ghertto Cowboy" by Greg Neri, "Concrete Cowboys" follows 15-year-old Cole (Caleb McLaughlin), who is forced to live with his estranged father, Harp (Idris Elba), in north Philadelphia where, despite the surrounding poverty and violence, he discovers the redemptive world of urban horseback riding.
