Safe Haven
An affirming and suspenseful story about a young woman's struggle to love again, Safe Haven is based on the novel from N...
In a world where superheroes are government employees facing budget cuts and public apathy, "Alter Egos" follows the existential crisis of Fridge, a hero with cryogenic powers played by Kris Lemche. Alongside his volatile, electricity-wielding partner C-Thru (Joey Kern), he navigates the mundane bureaucracy of saving a world that no longer seems to care. Their personal lives are as fractured as their public personas, particularly when Fridge's attempt to reconnect with his ex-girlfriend Claire (Brooke Nevin) collides with his heroic duties. This sharp comedy-drama from writer-director Jordan Galland blends deadpan humor with genuine pathos, exploring the men behind the masks as they grapple with fading fame, relationship woes, and the startling revelation that a new, more ruthless villain might be the only thing that can make them relevant again. With a supporting cast including Christine Evangelista and Danny Masterson, the film paints a witty and surprisingly poignant picture of superhero burnout in an age of indifference.
