Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson, known as Tove Lo, hails from Stockholm, Sweden. Born on 29 October, 1987, the singer/songwriter started writing poetry and short stories when she was a young girl. She then began writing songs for other artists including Icona Pop and Girls Aloud before deciding to try performing her own songs.
Lo gained attention for her 2013 single "Habits" and later reached mainstream success with a remix of the track by hip hop producers Hippie Sabotage titled "Stay High". Her debut EP, "Truth Serum", was released in March 2014 featuring both versions of the song as well as singles "Out of Mind" and "Not on Drugs".
Also in 2014, Lo appeared on the remake of DJ Alesso's "Heroes". The new version, titled "Heroes (We Could Be)", was also a hit, peaking at No. 49 on Billboard Hot 100, No. 4 on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs and No. 1 on both Billboard's Dance Airplay and Hot Dance Club Songs.
