Initially doing acting to overcome his shyness, Richard Madden ended up making his name big in Hollywood showbiz. His film debut was the 2000 adaptation of Iain Banks' "Complicity", in which he starred as Young Adam. He, afterwards, was cast as Sebastian on the children's comedy series "Barmy Aunt Boomerang" aired on BBC1. This led him to being cast for another lead role which was as Dean McKenzie on the BBC series "Hope Springs".
In 2010, Madden was cast as Ripley in the British thriller flick "Chatroom" and as Kirk Brandon in TV movie "Worried About The Boy". His breakthrough role came the following year through the HBO's fantasy drama series "Game of Thrones" which saw him portraying the character of Robb Stark. He won a Screen International Award for Star of Tomorrow. He next guest starred on comedy drama "Sirens", drama series "Birdsong", also miniseries "Klondike".
In 2013, Madden secured a part in the drama romance movie "A Promise" as Ludwig. He next was billed to star as Prince Charming in the live action Disney film "Cinderella", released in March 2015. In addition to those features, he had also played in several productions during his time studying at Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
