Joey + Rory emerged as a beloved American country and bluegrass duo, capturing hearts with their authentic harmonies and deeply personal songwriting. The husband-and-wife team of Rory Feek and Joey Feek formed in 2008 in Columbia, Tennessee, crafting a sound that felt both timeless and intimately connected to their life together. Their journey, marked by professional success and profound personal trials, created a legacy that extended far beyond the country music charts.

Prior to the duo's formation, Rory had established himself as a successful songwriter in Nashville, penning singles for artists like Blake Shelton and Clay Walker. Joey, an Indiana native, was pursuing a solo singing career when the two met. Their personal and professional partnership blossomed quickly, leading to marriage and the official creation of Joey + Rory. Their big break arrived in 2008 when they became finalists on the CMT talent competition Can You Duet?, which showcased their chemistry and led to a recording contract.

Their debut single, "Cheater, Cheater," became their claim to fame, introducing their classic country sound to a national audience. They released their first album, The Life of a Song, later that year on Vanguard Records. The duo found a particularly strong following within the bluegrass and gospel communities, eventually recording for the Gaither Music Group. Over their career, they charted three singles on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and released several acclaimed albums, including Album Number Two, His and Hers, and Made to Last. Their 2012 Christmas album, A Farmhouse Christmas, and the inspirational Inspired further showcased their versatility.

Their story took a public and poignant turn in 2014 when Joey was diagnosed with cervical cancer. The couple chronicled Joey's battle with remarkable grace and faith, sharing their journey through Rory's blog and in their music. During this period, they recorded what would become their final album together, Hymns That Are Important to Us, a collection of traditional faith songs that resonated deeply with fans. Joey Feek passed away on March 4, 2016. In the years following, Rory has continued to honor their partnership, releasing posthumous music and sharing their story through writing and film. The music of Joey + Rory endures as a testament to love, faith, and the simple, powerful beauty of a life and melody shared.
