Flipp Dinero
Flipp Dinero, born Christopher Saint Victor on November 16, 1995, in the Canarsie neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, emerged as a hip-hop artist known for crafting a viral hit that transcended the music world. His stage name, a combination of "Flipp" from his childhood nickname and "Dinero" meaning money in Spanish, reflected his ambitions. He is best known for his 2018 single "Leave Me Alone," a track that achieved quadruple platinum status and became a cultural phenomenon, largely thanks to its adoption by high-profile athletes.
His path to music began after a potential football career was derailed by an injury. Turning his focus to rap, he was discovered on SoundCloud by fellow Brooklyn rapper Joey Badass. This pivotal connection led to Flipp Dinero signing with Cinematic Music Group in May 2016. He built a local following with early mixtapes like The Guala Way in 2017, but his career trajectory changed dramatically with the release of "Leave Me Alone." The song gained explosive viral momentum after being danced to on Instagram by NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. and NBA player Jordan Bell, propelling it onto the Billboard Hot 100 where it eventually peaked at number 20.
Capitalizing on this sudden success, Flipp Dinero entered into a joint venture in August 2018 with DJ Khaled's We the Best Music Group, an imprint of Epic Records, which re-issued "Leave Me Alone" as a single. The track served as the lead single for his debut studio album, Love for Guala, which was released in November 2019. Despite the massive success of its lead single, the album itself did not achieve significant commercial performance. Following the album's release, he continued to release new music, including the 2020 singles "Wassa" and "Caught Fire," and a 2021 collaboration with Lil Tjay on "Not In The Mood," maintaining his presence in the hip-hop landscape while working on his next major project.
