news-detailsEvan Ross was born Evan Olav Naess on August 26, 1988 in Greenwich, Connecticut to famous singer Diana Ross. Kicking off his acting career while he was still a high school student, he got his first major role in the 2006 film "ATL" as Anton "Ant" Swann. The following year, he scored two film features, namely "Pride" and "Life Support", the latest earned him rave reviews for his portrayal of troubled teenager Amare McCarter. The role brought him a nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special at the 2008 Image Awards.

In the following few years, Ross appeared in several other films, naming some were "Linewatch" and "According to Greta". In 2010 he starred on hit series "90210" as the recurring character Charlie Selby. His next films were "Mooz-lum" which earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the 2012 Black Reel Awards, and "96 Minutes" which won him Breakthrough Performance Award at the 2011 SXSW Film Festival.

In 2013, Ross received wide media attention for dating actress-singer Ashlee Simpson. The two got engaged in January the following year and tied the knot on August 30, 2014 at his mother's estate in Connecticut. The union thus made Ross the stepfather to Ashlee's son Bronx Mowgli (b. 2008), whom she had with then husband Pete Wentz. Still in 2014, Ross could be seen starring in the much anticipated science fiction thriller "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay � Part 1" as Messalla, an assistant director to Cressida. He reprised the role in the 2015 "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay � Part 2".
