Charli XCX was born Charlotte Emma Aitchison on August 2, 1992. She began making music at an early age while growing up in Hertfordshire, England, and released a pair of singles, "Emelline/Art Bitch" and "!Franchesckaar!", while she was 14. She recorded her first album in 2008. The record was only sold at concerts and never saw an official release.
She was signed to This Is Music and IAMSOUND Records in 2010 before releasing three more singles, "Stay Away", "Nuclear Seasons" and "You're the One" from her debut EP, "You're the One", which was released in June 2012. After some delays, her official debut album "True Romance" arrived in 2013. In the same year, she found fame after being featured on Icona Pop's hit "I Love It" which she also wrote. She had a bigger success when appearing with Iggy Azalea on the rapper's "Fancy" in 2014. While the song was still topping Billboard Hot 100, Charli scored her first top 10 hit on the chart as a main artist with "Boom Clap". The song appears on her second studio album "Sucker" as well as on the soundtrack of "The Fault in Our Stars".
